Lego Benny’s Space Squad.

Spaceship! Spaceship! SPACESHIP! My favorite character from The Lego Movie might be your favorite. Benny is the 80’s nerdy, cool, retro astronaut steeped in building his ultra cool spaceship whenever he gets. Some may not know he has three great friends: Lenny, Kenny, and Jenny. I thought it fitting to put these guys on my mortar and cement lunar landscape, solving mysteries and other shenanigans. Most of my shots for this series were shot at high speed to capture the lunar dust exploding as these guys jumped and bumped themselves throughout the environment. I also created several space vehicles based heavily on the style of the original toys. Their vivid color palette really helped make this series seem like a modern version of the classic space series from the 1980s.
